Test coverage where you need to connect, not beside the router. Thick walls, long corridors and several rooms make older Paris apartments difficult for a single box. After checking the signal around the flat, the practical answer may be a better box location, a suitable access point, a repeater or a mesh system.

Identify irreplaceable documents, photos and work folders first. A backup can use an external drive, cloud storage or both, depending on the existing equipment and account. Automatic coverage is configured for the selected folders, and a sample file is restored so you know where recovery lives.
Give each child a separate user account instead of sharing the administrator login. Built-in controls from Windows, macOS, iOS, Android or the internet box can manage suitable apps, purchases and content categories. The parent keeps the administration credentials and chooses the rules during setup.
Keep the controls understandable enough to maintain. I show where the settings live, which adult account approves changes and how a new device joins the family arrangement. The goal is a structure you can adjust as needs change, not a hidden configuration that nobody can manage later.
Install the workstation where calls and focused work will happen. The computer, display, keyboard, mouse, webcam, headset, printer and network connection are treated as one setup. Cables remain identifiable, the preferred screen arrangement is saved, and peripherals are checked again after a restart.
